Anaheim Bolts 5 - San Diego Sockers 10
For Immediate Release:
Anaheim, CA - (January 28, 2012) - The San Diego Sockers (12-0) defeated The Anaheim Bolts (3-7) 10-5 in a very entertaining affair at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena.
The Bolts had a tremendous first quarter with Rafael Gaytan drawing first blood for the home side.
Anthony Medina struck first for San Diego less than a minute later to draw the teams level and an evenly played quarter finished 3-3.
From there, San Diego took over and won the next two periods by a combined score of 6-1 with reigning MVP Kraig Chiles recording a hat-trick before half-time.
The Bolts looked livelier in the fourth quarter with Adriano De Lima producing a brilliant individual effort to skip pass three players and slot the ball beyond Sockers goalie Chris Toth.
“We played well in the first quarter,” lamented head coach Bernie Lilavois after the loss, “but once again we failed to put together a full 60 minutes. You have to play a full game in this league if you want all three points. Especially against a team as talented as San Diego”
The Bolts have now dropped five straight, but the good news is that Anaheim has another chance to get back into the win column tomorrow when they entertain the Phoenix Monsoon. Kick-off at the Anaheim Convention Arena is set for 8:00 P.M. PST.
